In 1957 the first Leo club was sponsored in
Pennsylvania, USA and in 1967 the Leo club programme became an
official international programme. LEO the word stands for Leadership,
Experience , Opportunity.

The Leo club programme is an awesome avenue
for young people to exchange their leadership skills , expand their
network and have fun while playing their part in making this world a
better place through humanitarian service. Leo clubs prepare young
people for a life time of leadership and with an opportunity for
development and contribution individually and collectively – as
responsible members of their Local , National and International
communities.They, The Leo club of Nalanda College is
categorized as a Alpha Leo club which the club membership is for the
youth between 10 – 19 years of age in our school to forces on
individual and social development. We had organized three successful
projects during the pandemic. There are twenty of members installed in
the Leo International and totally there are over fifty members installed
to the Leo District 306C1. For the first time in history of our club Leo
Yomal Vithana has been able to get a “Leo Gold Star Award” as the
progress of the year 2019/2020.

The Leo Club of Nalanda College for the year 2019/2020 was leaded by Leo Yomal Vithana (Club President), Leo
Binusha Pathiranage (Club Secretary) and Guided by Mrs.Thilini
(Teacher-In-Charge) responsibly
