The 22^nd Ruwan Wickramanayaka Challenge Trophy Interhouse Badminton Tournament organized by Nalanda College badminton club was held on 29^th of January 2022 at Nalanda College indoor badminton stadium.

Distinguished old nalandian director of north Colombo teaching hospital dr. Sampath Ranaweera was presented as the chief guest. Former master in charge Mr.Palitha Wijesekara was invited as the guest of honour. Principal Mr.Thilak waththuhewa, Deputy principals, assistant principals and many other dignitaries coloured the event with their presence.

More than 100 shuttlers participated in the tournament, and the winners of every category were awarded at the awarding ceremony. After a competitive battle, the overall championship was won by ‘Soorya House’ while ‘Maurya House’ placed as runners-up.

Badminton is one of the leading sports at Nalanda College. Badminton has been awarded as the best sport at college colours night for four consecutive years.

While concluding the occasion the badminton club of Nalanda college voted their thanks to the principal, deputy principals, assistant principals, teachers in charge, coach, dear parents and the old boys for helping to make the event a success.
